A Mom is super horrified when her Doberman drags her baby daughter across the yard until she knows why?

Khan was rescued from an animal shelter in 2007 and saved his new owner’s baby girl from a deadly King Brown snake attack just four days later.

On the incident day, Charlotte Svillcic - seventeen-month-old - was playing in the garden of her home in Atherton, Australia.

Suddenly Khan began acting strangely, he seemed to be slightly aggressive towards Charlotte, attempting to push her away from where she played.

But the fact was that Khan had spotted a King Brown snake, the world’s third most venomous snake, and he was trying to nudge her to safety.

When the snake was about to strike the baby girl, he did the most heroic thing.

Catherine - Charlotte’s mother - takes up the story, “if I had not seen it with my own eyes I would never have believed it,”. “Khan was really concentrating, he kept trying to nudge her but it wasn’t working, so he grabbed her by the back of the nappy and threw her over his shoulder more than a meter.”

While Charlotte was safe, Khan ended up taking a venomous bite to the paw himself.

Catherine said that “Baby Charlotte looked shocked and Khan screamed like he’d been stabbed,”. “I realized quickly it was a snake and he’d been trying to get in between her and the snake before he threw her.”

Khan ran inside and collapsed after being bitten. Then he was given a shot of anti-venom by a vet and spent a night in lots of pain but managed to survive.

Catherine said that her family was incredibly touched by Khan’s selfless and protective action. And she also explained the condition of Khan when he was rescued by Doberling Boarding Kennels owner - Kerry Kinder. He was starving, had broken ribs, and had been beaten. “He was an abused dog. It was borderline on whether or not he should be put down because he was in such a bad way,” she said.

A snake expert said that Khan may have escaped death because the snake wasn't able to inject a large amount of venom into his paw. The story would have been different had the bite pierced the skin of baby Charlotte.

Khan had been an unwanted dog and was now “A wonder dog” to his owners. They knew for certain he’d saved their daughter’s life by risking his own.
